Crew of the Corsair Le Machault   built in 1756 at Granville weighing 300 tons  armed for Warfare  with  24 cannons and 6 tons of goods, 6 pounds calibre cannonballs, with 16 bombards
130  guns,  draughting 14 feet loaded, 11 feet unloaded, 2  decks, 2 poops,
Owned and armed by Sieur Des Aulnaies Lucas  at Granville 
commanded by Sieur Lemengnonet   bound in chase
which crew he paid on account future  wages .

Annotation :
The name of the Boat is to honour the Minister of Louis 15, Jean-Baptist de Machault d' Arnouville (1701/1794), French politician, general controller of finances (1745/1754), Minister of Justice (1750/1757) and Secretary of State of marine(1754/1757). In 1749, he tried the first to establish an income tax (twentieth) concerning with equality all the orders of the nation. Badly supported by Louis 15 , his reform failed.

Note: We find on board this boat much of Captains, lieutenants and other grades because simply the fishing vessels were unable to leave. The sailors engaged on board the corsairs were at the service of the King.
