Paid to 15 people named here for 2 months
advance which is the custom of the ship leaving this port to make the
voyage to the Gaspé Peninsula We submit to pay Mr. de Neuville
Particular Treasurer of the Navy of this department, the 6 deniers per
pound of said sum and to give him copy with the certified copy of the
receipt that he will provide us: We promise to provide the crew during
all the course of the voyage the rations of food in the quantity and
quality regulated by the ordinances of the Navy; we submit, in case that
it was not provided to them in entirety, to return account to the police
chief of the Navy of this Department, of the deductions which they will
have made for their silver paid in cash by the ship-owner upon return
voyage, in accordance with the King's rules on this subject. And
moreover, not to take neither sailor nor French passenger some share
where I find myself, weith consent of the local officers , and in
charging me in front of them with conflict of this declaration, to give
an account like the rest of my crew. On my return, to represent the crew
at the Office of the Classes of the Port in which the ship will unload,
to justify there by certificates particular Intendants of the Colonies,
Consuls in the countries where they are vested, or officers of the
Classes, the deserters or sick, and deaths by funeral abstracts; to
provide in the 24 hours after our arrival a roll of the payments which
will have been made to the crew, and to pay the 6 deniers per pound in
full payment, and to observe the ordinances of His Majesty, under
pain of 500 pounds fine. |
